Recently, M. McCormick of Golconda sent me a typewritten listing taken from grave markers or tombstones at the Independence Cemetery located between Rose Bud and Bay City, Illinois.

I have transcribed the names and details as listed on the document. I am not sure who compiled the information, but we are thankful for their labor.

I have a special interest, given Henry Shappard was my gggrandfather and Daniel and Rebecca Davis were is wife Martha's parents, my ggggrandparents. Henry's mother, Anna Schubehart (spelling on 1854 marriage license) remarried to Fredrick Overmark in 1854 and had two children together, John Henry Overmark ( b. 1856) and Caroline Overmark MAEDEKER ( b. 1861). Any information about these children and descendants would be appreciated.
