The Genealogy Committee of the Pope County Historical Society is a brand new endeavor. The committee has several projects planned. You may find a printable pedigree chart (as well as Family Group Sheet) by Clicking Here Another project the committee is undertaking is the locating and listing of all the Pope County Cemeteries. If you know the location of a little known cemetery please let them know. Pope County Connections is the genealogical newsletter which is published as a section of the Pope County Historical Society's regular publication, The Packet. The newsletter is informative and gives news from the historical society as well as previously unpublished genealogy information, photographs, a section to place queries and let everyone know which Pope County Families members are researching. The Society is considering reprinting the "Pope County, Illinois, History and Families" Vol. 1. If anyone is interested please contact the Pope County Historical Society by mail or email Cheryl Broadway Cossey for more information.
