I need help please, I am looking for any information that I can get on Thomas Jefferson Layman/Lemon/Lemons. He was born in Tenn. Dec.24, 1856 He is not the one on the site. His mother was Nancy J. Adams, he married Sena Younger. Am trying to find his father so can put this family together. Thomas & Sena had the following children: Nannie,Effie, John Nathan ( he later used the surname Lemon) Alex, Jefferson Dell, Ezra. The 1880 cencus has him in Eddyville, Pope ILL. he was going under the name Lemons with his wife Sena C. Lemons children Ann 3, Effa 2 and John 9 monthes. We do know that John his son was born in Hardin Co. ILL. Also Thomas's mother was living in Pope Co at the same time with her second husband JJ Merit. BAILEY/MCCORKLE/HARPER:Is any one doing research on the Bailey family. I am interested in George and Mary Bailey who are listed in the l850 Census as caring for 4 McCorkle children--James, Robert Sarah and George. Ellis Harper took in Thomas Mc corkle Jr as a worker and Matthew Harper took Margaret McCorkle 20 a help. Robert Mccorkle at the time was listed with Baileys was listed as 15 and a worker he later married a Sidney Bailey. I'm looking for a lead into the McCorkle family. I know Thomas McCorkle Sr died around 1850 probably leading to the placement of his children. The McCorkle children most all purchased land in Pope Co. with land Warrants. In a later census Mary Bailey was listed as mother to Robert, a widower. Any information appreciated.

Thomas H. B. Julian married Lydia M. Frieze (Frese) and were in Pope County on the 1880 census. Looking for name of Thomas' father and mother and Lydia's parents. Lydia's last name may be from a former marriage. Thomas and Lydia married after the Civil War. Thomas died and is buried in Texas. Lydia is buried in New Mexico. This Thomas is not the same as Thomas Hedge Julian who married Sarah Plotner. Thanks for any assistance.

We have an 1850 census of Green Co AR that lists a George G Hazel born abt 1825,TN,with his wife,Sarah,born abt 1830 TN and one child,Malinda,9 months old. We have found a Samuel K Hazel in the Nashville,Davidson co TN census with a male son age 0-5.He is not listed in the 1840 Tn census,but is in the 1840 Pope Co IL census with a male child 10-15. Would anyone have information on either of these Hazels?This has been a brick wall for years! Thanks
